What happens if I get toothache?

Please call the practice and we will fit you in the same day where possible and/or offer appropriate advice.

For out of hours emergencies registered patients should call the practice and follow the advice on the answer phone message.

Is dental treatment painful?

No, when proper techniques are used, dental treatment can be extremely comfortable and pain free.

What does it mean when my gums bleed when I brush and floss?

This maybe a sign that gum disease is present and will need to be assessed by the dentist to prevent future tooth loss.

Does the surgery follow strict infection control protocols?

Yes, in 2011 the practice opened a dedicated decontamination suite for the safe cleaning and sterilizing of dental instruments. The room exceeds current essential requirements set by the Department of Health.

Can I ask questions?

concerns, answer all of your questions in easy to understand terms and encourage patients to be involved with decisions regarding their treatment.

Is it easy to schedule an appointment?

Yes, our patients are always given appointments within a reasonable time period.

Are dental x-rays necessary?

Yes, to detect possible underlying problems, which can be treated at an early stage preventing future tooth loss. Our digital equipment is state of the art and minimises exposure. We follow the Royal College of Surgeons (fgdp rcs) guidelines as to the frequency of x-rays.

Do I have to have silver fillings?

No, white composite fillings or inlays for larger cavities are available.

Does metal show have to show around crowns?

No, the practice also offers metal-free high strength porcelain crowns.

Is it possible to make my teeth whiter?

Yes, the surgery offers professional tooth whitening, different options are available your dentist will be able to advise the best one for you.

Do I have to wear something I remove to replace missing teeth?

No, your dentist can advise you on fixed options such as bridgework or implants.

What are the advantages of private treatment?

There is a greater choice of treatment options, improved quality of care, better materials, more time booked for appointments and overall patient experience.
